MILLions of Leaves

The New River Gorge may not have alot of water in its streams and creeks due to the drought this summer, but the color still looked fantastic this weekend as I shot with my wonderful wife and daughter and good friend Randy Sanger. At the end of the day we got down to Mill Creek in Ansted to get a few last shots. I scrambled around to check out the different views, and at the far end of the pool, I found this big pile of leaves in the water. I could see that it was turning ever so slightly, so I set a long exposure to see what would happen. The image above is the result. I called Randy over and told him, "you aren't gonna believe this." We both shot it for several minutes and I'm sure he got a nice wide-angle landscape here, too. We had a very productive day on Friday for sure! I've got several nice images to share! On Saturday we attended Randy and Ed's book signing in Charleston at the WV Book Fair. Check out my friends' Randall Sanger and Ed Reihben's website ( www.wvscenicephotography.com ) for more info on their portofolio and new book. It was a great weekend!
