Backlit Pollution

Near Springfield, Illinois today I saw these huge smokestacks billowing beautiful white smoke. They're at City, Water, Light, and Power.

I like to see shape charges wrapped around the base and detonated.

You caught it perfectly Brent! I like how the light shines through the smoke. For pollution, it sure is pretty.

Kirsten pretty much summed it up. I've often seen such smoke or steam plumes and thought they'd be cool to take pictures of, but never got around to it. Glad you did! Its a wonderful shot.

Looks nice! But not to sound like a smart-A but its actually steam, its generated by the lake it's on. I lived in Springfield my whole life. Either way, it's a good picture, keep up the good work!
