New York Infantry Monument - Lookout Mountain

In 1898, the state of New York placed this monument in honor of the New York infantrymen who fought here during the Civil War. The monument is located about halfway up the end of Lookout Mountain at the Craven's House. The metal statue at the top features a Union soldier with a sword in one hand and a United States flag in the other.

This monument is not to be confused with the New York Peace Monument which is up the mountain from here at Point Park.
