Locomotive by Lewitt-Him
A rare 1938 children's book, originally written in Polish but translated over the years into several languages, Locomotive, The Turnip and The Birds' Broadcast is a collection of rhymes by Julian Tuwim.

But it's the artwrok that really catches my attention. They're fantastic, simple art deco illustrations by Jan Lewitt and George Him.

Lewitt and Him were designers and artists working together in the 1930's, and because their artwork reflected equal parts of each of them, they referred to themselves by the name Lewitt-Him.

This book is one of just a handful in the world, and most of those are in rare book rooms in university Libraries. l was lucky enough to find this copy still in circulation, and have scanned it for sharing here.
