Books at The Société de Lecture, Geneva

A whole shelf of books by Vicki Baum. I looked her up and it turns out that she was an Austrian popular novelist, born at the end of the 19th Century. She moved to Hollywood in the 1930s and worked as a screenwriter. While living in Berlin she wrote a book called Grand Hotel, which was later adapted for a film, starring Garbo in her most famous role ("I want to be alone..."). So, there you go.
