Nothing new to post today, so I thought I'd bring back one of my all time favorites that I look last summer at Lake Louise.

I took this shot at Lake Louise in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. The lake sits in a glacial valley, with the melting snow mixing with sediment from the mountains causing this beautiful color in the water. There were 2 red canoes tied together just floating in the water...added great color to the photo!

Camera: Canon 550D REBEL T2i
Lens Canon EF-S 17-85mm IS USM
Exposure: Exposure Fusion (2 exposures, non-HDR)
Aperture: f/10.0
Focal Length: 85 mm
ISO Speed: 100

I am glad you reposted this; it is such a money image, I mean the classic tranquil serenity, and perfectly captured.

First let me say that I saw your comments on a shot that Luke Hertzfeld took and you made the statement about wishing you had an area like this in Houston. Just wanted to ask if you were familiar with Armand Bayou in Clear Lake City? It's really a gem located in the heart of the city and offers opportunities galore. I'm not the best photographer, but you can check out my photostream and see what the bayou has to offer. I also have the name of a kayak rental place in that area if you are interested.

I always hear people talk about Banff and after seeing photos like this I definitely understand the infatuation with the area. This is a STUNNING composition and really shows the beauty of the area. Outstanding color and a magnificent area.

    Wonderful photo!

The thing I want to know most.... is it a runaway canoe? Or did the occupants capsize themselves? LOL
