Saint Vincent de Paul

Chapelle de Saint Vincent de Paul - 95, rue de Sèvres - Métro Vaneau

Saint Vincent de Paul est embaumé - c'est très impressionnant

"Monsieur Vincent" created the "Lazaristes" and the chapel where he is resting was built for him.

He was declared "Saint" by the pope Clément XII.

Saint Vincent blessed Louis XIII when he died.

His corpse was embaulmed and put in a magnificent reliquary made with 130 kilos (260 pounds) of silver - the silversmith was Charles-Nicolas Odiot. This reliquary obtained a golden medal at the Exhibition of the French Industry in 1827. His face and hands are in wax.
