Monet's impressions.

Claude Monet's ( 1840 - 1926 ) garden.

.....A founder of French Impressionist painting.

..........In 1883 Monet moved to Giverny from Paris, where he was exceptionally fond of painting his own gardens with their water lilies, pond and bridge in controlled nature - working in varying light and weather conditions.

.....It may be that after surgery to the cataracts in his eyes, he was able to see certain ultraviolet wavelengths of light, which may have had an effect on the colours he perceived.

..........His painted water lilies were bluer after his operation - being of a reddish tone before.
