Oak 40-drawer cabinet after sanding off the green paint, using steel wool on the drawer fronts, and oiling the oak. The brass labels read: "FILES Auditor for the Post Office Dept." The drawers are 24 inches deep and have that open strip down the center where a file card holder went. Next tasks are putting a new piece of oak over the broken foot and getting the dirt and paint off the remaining pulls without removing the old patina... What I thought was an oxidized verdigris finish on the label holder pulls was light green paint and a LOT of grime!
