so here's the great/dining room/kitchen area, all the drywall is up, none of the putty is sanded smooth yet. we'll see how that goes, the drywallers in this neighborhood have a bad habit of leaving small waves in the walls due to inadequate sanding... either way most everything is going to be white so I can re-sand then paint over it whatever color I want if there's a need.
I guess I should note that you should notice that the drywall is oriented sideways, with the long edge horizontal. this is intentional and it actually makes the wall strong and the drywall much more difficult to snap or break. there are several reasons for this but the easiest to understand is because the grain of the paper on the drywall follows the length of the panel, this way the grain is perpendicular to the studs.
