Loch Lomond, on the banks of the A82 road, has the distinction of being the home of Lomographic photography. St Petersburg in Russia has attempted to claim the credit, but the evidence for this, and other locations is flimsy, to say the least.
If ever the clue was in the name, this is it.
The Lomography motto "Don't think, just shoot" has been adopted in many countries around the world, with some in the Middle East, Syria and Libya in particular, being avid devotees.
The annual Lomo convention was held in the third week of July at Glendarroch, on the banks of the loch, but since the village went bankrupt in 2003, it was moved to Luss.
For further information contact Isabel Blair at the village Post Office.
