through a very dirty United Express window. strategically placed dirt spots make it look cleaner than it was

I try to get windows on the shade side of the plane, manually focus, and shoot wide open to minimize the crap on the window. Some times it works, sometimes it doesn't.

    Amazing shot sir.

Great shot but I think you could make it better by bumping the overall brightness and then the contrast up.

I tried that... I lost the shadow detail on the left that I really like and the whites blew out.

yea, it's kinda tough with arials. You're also shooting through miles of air which cuts contrast a lot. Like I said, great shot.

I think this is awesome! I am amazed by your ability to get great shots from an airplane.

the contrast on this is cranked a bunch already... that really hekps cutting through the haze.

    Thanks!

I love doing this, photos from the plane window. You did a great job on the processing too. Very cool.

I went back and I tweaked it a bit per your suggestion. managed to hold the whites and it looks a lot better. thanks

Sweet! I usually use the quick mask tool and adjust the lows up quite a bit and then adjust the whole photo. If you pull the darks first and maybe drop the highlights down you can get away with a lot more before losing data.

Nice! Yeah, all that dirt turned into a mountain! Can't see any on the window though. Looks like the pp resulted in what you actually saw, so that's perfect.

I never realized Shasta was a tri-peak mountain. I thought he looked like Hood.

  16. bodiegroup 39 months ago | reply

I always knew about the cone on the side... never noticed the other peak till I shot this.
