Yes, label us "crazy". We spent 3 months traveling through Alaska in our motorhome, but still took a 2-week cruise of Alaska in September.

Well, we saw things from the ship we would never see from a RV, so everything fit very well.

The fun part of the cruise was when we left Anchorage in a hurry, trying to avoid 100+ MPH windstorms off the Gulf of Alaska. The captain did a great job, and we ran across the Gulf with only a few bumps.

Another cruise ship was wind-bound and lost their opportunity to visit Glacier Bay. Our captain, with help from the main Holland-America office (and of course the National Park Service), took up the license, and we had an unexpected visit to Glacier Bay. The weather there was the best we (and the NPS) have ever seen. The sun shone on most of the trip, and we saw the mountain-tops above the glaciers, something that rarely happens.
