East Side Chicago residents & allies protest the piles of petcoke being dumped into the community. The dust blows off the uncovered piles & into people's homes & lungs.

Petcoke is a bi-product of the tar sands oil processing at the BP refinery in Whiting across the state line in Indiana. Petcoke aggravates respiratory ailments like asthma & contains at least one known heavy metal carcinogen.
