Slave market memorial in Stonetown, Zanzibar

From 1811 to 1873, a slave market existed in Stonetown, Zanzibar. It was the hub of the slave trade for all of East Africa. More than one million slaves were traded at this market. This statue is part of a memorial to those poor souls who were bought and sold at the market.
