Lonesome Stables

    Newer Older

This barn sits unused and uncared for on a piece of land about ten minutes south of my house. The farmland is still sown but the barn is forgotten. A relic of simpler days when horse and ox were the only source of power for plows and carts. Now they use machinery that costs three quarters of a million dollars to do all the work. Not to mention spraying fertilizers and pesticides that cost a pretty penny aswell.
And they wonder why they can't make any money farming anymore.

Hi there - this is a great shot! Found it via the Zero Image group. I was wondering - what focal length were you using here? (I don't have a Zero, but I believe the LF ones can expand - 25mm, 50mm etc). I have a home built 4x5 pinhole, which I have just started to use - focal length is about 25mm, but I find that with LF film, I get the strong vignetting, as the image circle is relatively small. So was just curious as to how you seem to have got a full frame coverage!

      Thanks, Craig

wow this one has amazing post-processing, i love the "old" feel to it, and the "dirty" border!

      phenominal!

Nice shot, but it lacks effectiveness. Over processed with lost sharpness. The dead center composition and horizon in the middle does not work as well. No for now, others may disagree

Fine and unorhodox pinhole...normally the falling over is not appealing, but here it adds to the state of the barn and the type of photography..love the basic tools of these shots ...good work ! a YES to me

i like the whole image and aesthetic here. the pinhole one and the way it brings up the barn. the compo is good and i like the decay mood of both photo and image. Yes from me.
