Transport History

The canal, originally known as the Grand Junction, was built at the turn of the 18th century. The railway was built in the 19th century. The Virgin Pendolino train, on its way to London Euston, was introduced at the start of the 21st century. And a prehistoric trail, the Ridgeway, crosses the hill in the background.
