Camel coat sleeve extenders
Noro Cash Iroha, size 3 bamboo DPNs.
This coat fits wonderfully in the shoulders and waist, and looks beautifully trim and svelte, as winter coats go. The sleeves, however, leave something to be desired. They're about 3 inches too short for optimal wrist coverage, even when I wear mittens or gloves. To prevent myself from buying a whole new peacoat, I plunked down $11 for some almost-matching Cash Iroha and whipped up a quick pair of armwarmers.
Pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, with some modifications. I weighed the skein of yarn before I started knitting, and then did some math to figure out how to use every last inch of it. Consequently, these are fairly long armwarmers. They go from just past my knuckle up to mid-forearm. I also reversed the swirl direction on the second armwarmer so that they'd be a better match.
I have 2 more skeins of Cash Iroha (one in cranberry red, and the other a weird peach that I'm going to overdye) that I'll be making into armwarmers like this. Next modification? Thumb gussets. I just have to figure out how to blend the increases in with the swirl rib.
