Finished roe

After one hour in the fridge, the roe is ready. It is now ikura (salted salmon roe) and can be eaten immediately, or transfered to a clean jar and kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.

 

If the ikura is too salty, a brief soak in cold water will help. Do not oversoak, or the roe may turn opaque.
