Dunlins - Conwy Valley

Dunlin (calidris alpina) is the smallest of the waders at only 16-20cm. They have a reddish brown back in the summer-autumn which then becomes greyish in colour in winter time. Enjoys estuaries and mudflats as seen here in the Conwy Valley, North Wales. This was taken from the hide about 30 metres away from the shoreline. more information at www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/
