      Looks like rosinweed to me! I think the starry/whorled rosinweed! Nice capture! Congrats on Explore!

      Thanks Catmanjoe! You could be right about it being starry rosinweed but most of the photos I can find of it show single flowers instead of multiples like this one... also there are black anthers in a circle around the center whereas these are all yellow. Identifying yellow wildflowers can be a real headache, from what I see.

      Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come up with the correct identity. Now you have me curious. I'm in Michigan, but I've been to Tennessee a hundred times. You're going to have me wandering the countryside of your state now. I used to know a guy who wrote a book on wildflowers, but he recently passed away unfortunately. He spent half his time out in the wild studying, photographing, and making notes on hundreds of species. He would have known I'm sure. Bad part though he always used the Latin names. Good luck on this, David! :-)
