May the road rise to meet you.
One of my favorite farewell/journey blessings is this traditional Irish example:
«May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.»
The next time someone you love is about to hit the road, whip this one out. You get extra bonus points if you sing it!
(I'm catching up on some old photos. This shot was taken during my road-trip to Washington on Interstate 80 approaching Newton, Kansas, on Saturday, March 30, 2013.)
