Yes, it's another unexceptional closeup of another unexceptional subject. But here's the thing: I photograph things that catch my eye either because they're memorable *to me* or beautiful, *to me.*
When I shot this, there was a necklace made of silver rings that I found piled up on our dresser. Something about the pile of silvery, sparkly rings was evocative to me. So, I tried to capture it. I remember, when I saw them I just wanted to run my hands through the seemingly disconnected rings, to feel their cool, slippery texture.
As to whether I failed or succeeded with this shot, I leave it to you, my faithful viewers.
Nota bene: This was a half-second-long handheld shot. Amazing there's no blur!
