Constellations of Desire
I downloaded this clever little mouse-tracker from iographica.com/. What's shown here are three separate sessions of mouse movements on my screen.
There's something called a "desire path" or "pathways of desire." Walking in the woods, you find a well-worn path: it's generally be best way (shortest or easiest) to get from one point to another, and the amount of wear on the path is a good indication of its usefulness or popularity. When people leave sidewalks an cut grooves in lawns, they'r leaving pathways of desire.
If mouse pointers could wear holes in monitors, you'd see your own electronic pathways of desire.
This, here, is my attempt to turn it into something pretty. Not sure I succeeded, but it was worth a shot!
