Draft 1: Church Annual Report
(Note: The green lines are not part of the design — it's my safe margin denoting the edges of the printed page.)
Trying to get ahead of the 8-ball ... we have our annual report coming up, which usually features a world missions sort of theme. Last year's report featured a strip of thumbnails depicting various ministries of the church. I'm not sure if I want to do that this time around — I want to go simple where I can.
So, I snatched a glass globe from one of the pastors' desks the other day and started playing with it photographically. Using this photo I played around with it to get a "light" version (the leadership wants to avoid a dark look where possible). That edited version is here.
With the new blue globe in hand, I created this layout.
I'm not totally happy with the border at the top of the page. I may kill it … or I may echo the flourishes in the middle of the page. But, not sure, really, whether there should even be anything at the top.
Your critique, commentary, and more, are not onliy welcomed, but encouraged! This is only the third or fourth piece I've designed for the church, so I'm learning as I go. I have a thick skin, so if you need to take me to school, I'm ready!
