Bluff River Trail

New trail alert! The Bluff River Trail provides improved access to the San Juan River for pedestrians, bicyclists, and equestrian riders. This new trail extends from the town of Bluff, Utah to the BLM’s Sand Island Recreation Area with approximately 6.7 trails miles on BLM-managed lands in Bears Ears National Monument and 3.9 additional miles that cross private lands. The trail has little elevation gain, which helps make it a great trail for a leisurely hike. Enjoy a hike, spot birds and other wildlife, visit the river, and take in the beautiful scenery along the Bluff River Trail. The Bluff River Trail was made possible through collaboration with our partners, including the Bluff Historic Preservation Association, private landowners who provided easements on their property, and the Grand Canyon Trust.
