Trona Pinnacles in Spring

Desert sunflowers bloom at Trona Pinnacles National Natural Landmark in the Searles Valley. The unusual landscape located within the Ridgecrest Field Office area of responsibility, features over 500 tufa spires, some as high as 140 feet. The pinnacles are protected as a part of the California Desert Conservation Area.
