Form Follows Function

I went out for the day to Southport which is north of Liverpool, out on the coast. It was a lovely day, unlike my last visit there, so I took plenty photos and had a good time - got a little sunburn too.

 

This is, in my opinion, one of the coolest photos I've ever taken. I don't know if anyone else will agree, but for some reason I really love it. This is basically a small sculpture at the end of the bridge (it has a plaque underneath but I forget what it said) so I thought I'd try to get the bridge and sculpture into this single shot. The curve of the sculpture obviously lent itself to this suggestion, and I did no post-processing at all so this is straight out of the camera.
