A Walldog! And his restored ghost sign
As I was detouring through Micanppy I noticed immediately that the old Coca Cola ghost sign on the Thrasher warehouse had been repainted. I ended up meeting the man that restored it, who you see here. He was SUPER nice. He is old-generation Floridian. I will update later with his info but he travels all over the East Coast doing restorations and murals and whatnot.
His info: Tom Thomas is the restorer. His website is www.finelinearchdetail.com though he admitted he rarely gets online. His company is Fine Line Architectural Detailing LLC.
He said there was a lot of controversy over whether or not to restore this sign. Ultimately the decision was made to do one light coat of fresh paint, otherwise the sign would soon be faded away completely.
I hadn't noticed the gal in corner before, she is very hard to see in previous shots.
He wasn't sure if he'd be repainting the top part where it reads "Thrasher Bros."
What a serendipitous encounter!
