Family : Bignoniaceae

Flowers in the spring on the east coast of Australia.

This tree is a grafted tree and cost me a over $50 when I purchased it in around 2000. Not sure how available they are now or at what cost.

I have this white flowering jacarada tree growing alongside a Jacaranda mimosifolia - Blue Jacaranda, but the growth habit seems a bit different in that the tree is slower growing and probably smaller. It does flower at almost the same time as the Blue Jacaranda but nevertheless I am wondering if this white form is not actually a cultivar of J. mimosifolia but in fact another species grafted onto J. mimosifolia rootstock. There are many species of Jacaranda so I expect there are white species of which I am unaware of at this time.

Any clarification is welcomed.

According to Wikipedia there are 49 species of Jacaranda in 2 Sections - 18 in Section - Jacaranda and 31 in the more primitive section - Dilobus
