A tree to 25 metres with shiny red oval (12-20mm) drupe fruit with 4mm yellow-brown flowers.

The leaf margins can be with or without teeth although juvenile leaves may be strongly toothed.

 

Labelled in Royal Sydney Botanic Gardens by a non current nomenclatural synonym - Drypetes lasiogyna var.australasica
