081812 zoo 2

First outing with 1dx at the Memphis zoo. I know the compositions may not necessarily be the greatest in the world, but I had a lot of difficulty with uncooperative animals and lots and lots of people making it difficult to move around to either get better angles or action. My experiences so far with the 1dx, great autofocus (from 5dII), excellent ISO performance (comfortably shot many in ISO 3200-6400 with only unaggressive ACR noise reduction), white balance performance seems to be much different from what the 5dII was (although there were some tricky conditions with mixed lighting or green color cast from shady trees), and it wasn't as heavy as I thought it was going to be (first 1d body). ISO performance and Autofocus performance were my main draw and I was not disappointed at all, I had to throw out very few pictures for poor focus (major difference from any other camera body I've used) and pushing ISO without much noise helped keep shutter speeds in telephoto range. ISO 400
