Resting Fawn

A newborn fawn who was tired of walking and had to rest for a while

Taking this photo definitely involved some luck - I was in the right place at the right time with my camera. There were two newborn fawns that seemed very young. I'm not a deer expert, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were only hours old. They had a lot of trouble walking and seemed to feel more secure standing by humans than alone. Their mother was nearby, so they weren't abandoned, and unlike some animals, deer don't reject their young if a human has touched them, so I took advantage of the opportunity and shot about 150 photos. It was actually somewhat difficult to get shots from further back because they would limp over towards me as soon as I stepped back from them. I did upload one other photo that you can see here, but this was definitely my favorite.

If you like this photo check out the others in my Animals set. As of writing this there aren't many photos in that set yet, but you'll probably like them.
