Commemorative Bronze medal for Birmingham inner ring road.
The Birmingham inner road was opened on 7th April 1971.
The inner road only took 13 years to build instead of the predicted 20 years and was the first scheme of its kind to be completed. City engineer Herbert John Manzoni was responsible for the project which included a network of subways and improved the road system.
