Sveitserhus

"Sveitserhus" is the Norwegian name for this type of wood architecture that originated in Germany and became popular in the second half of the eighteen hundreds. These buildings were originally painted in several colours, emphasising beams, fretwork etc. Now most of them are painted white.

 

The model has many of the characteristic features of how this style was interpreted in Norway, most of them I have no idea what to call in English...sorry!
