Spotted Crake, Porzana Fluminea
Probably the find of the day, and a bit of sunshine might just have helped. These little birds were happily hunting along the edges of the small water courses at the western end of Lake Wendouree. Unlike their usual activity of fleeing. They, there were about half a dozen, were completely oblivious to the passers by and the photogoraher pretending to be picnicking on the grassy verge. Just the light, the light, the light, and me with not tripod, or image stabilisation.
