Great Crested Grebe : Time for a trip around the Neighbourhood

Great Crested Grebe, Podiceps critatus

With her three young on board, Mum decided to take a trip out of the reeds and into the open water to give them an opportunity to paddle about for themselves.

(Third one is just behind her neck)

 

The male was already in the middle of the lake and had moved on a few ducks and a curious swan to give them some safe open water.
