Studio Models of Enterprise, Botany Bay with Slate Scene 13A-1
A shot reminiscent of the cover of the 1973 book The World of Star Trek by David Gerrold. This shot is closer, a different scene number, and a slight forward angle most obvious on the Botany Bay which shows the cargo area in proportion to the main ship spine and also the weathering on the front conical section. Great detail is visible on the nacelles of the Enterprise here as well including the red rectangle on the bottom near the support struts. The series Enterprise has the Christmas lights installed in the front of the nacelles as well as the spheres at the rear of the nacelles that replaced the former grid like pattern found in the second pilot. This shot is from the photography for the TOS episode Space Seed.
The slate holder looks similar to the man in the Bird of Prey shot shown earlier in this photostream.
