Day 7: Persepolis
Bringing tribute to the king. I believe these were beehives. On this Nourouz relief, each nation dressed in its own customary garb brought its own treasures - including people from as far away as Africa. In front of this, a woman near us broke down sobbing. Our guide asked what was the matter and she explained that she was Zoroastrian and sad because they used to be kings and now they are treated like dirt. It was a moving experience for all of us.
