Sawhill Ponds Sunset II

    Newer Older

There was a nice sunset tonight. I recommend you view it on black for the full effect.

As I arrived there was a photographer folding up his tripod after lighting up a smoke to celebrate another brilliant Colorado sunset captured. He drove off as I set up. Sort of feel bad for the guy.

BTW, this isn't really meant to be a great image (I tend not to like the mirror image sunset shots that look like a cross between a Rorschach test and a bad tie die) but I did want to share it since it was pretty sweet light. Next time I'll try to put some thought into a composition ahead of time but I was not feeling great this evening.

Hm, the reflected clouds look like floating on the water.
I agree, there is something about reflection scenes, mirror images that can be almost irritating. Repetition, the most fundamental aspect of learning.

Classic, but seeing such a great sky it´s hard not taking such a shot. Colour contrast is wonderful between deep red and blue...a good one Jeff.

WOW! I sort of feel bad for the guy, and I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit here. This is sweet!

Yep, twas amazing in your location too. I noticed on this one the upper clouds only stayed lit for a very short time.

The thing that fascinates me the most is the depth of field in the reflections of the clouds. At first I thought they were some kind of vegetation growing in the pond.
