oral carcinoma / mouth cancer, staging: T4N2M0

fast growing oral cancer (suspected squamous cell carcinoma, histology to follow). diagnosis "cancer" was already given due to apperance and major involvement of lymph nodes (metastasis).

patient's only chance for survival is removal of about half of the lower jaw, rebuilding it from femoral bone. radical neck dissection will have to be carried out, possibly followed by radio- and / or chemotherapy.

combined radio- / chemotherapy alone is suspected to be likely only palliative, not curative - so the only hope for this patient is that the tumor is still operable, which it luckily seems to be.

click here for the tumor's appearance just 11 days ago.

edit: histology as of 04th november 2009 proved the diagnosis SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA.
