Behind The Mask
Emerging from the carbon freeze... ;-)
Trying out a couple techniques here, some skin retouching, and a kind of "etching" method (which is probably basic training, but I stumbled onto it through experimentation, a variation of this, really). It's essentially just laying down a texture in whatever blending mode suits your fancy, then incrementally removing (or adding, as the case may be) the mask using different layer styles and and brush tips as cutting tools. Split toning was used for color contrast between the texture and base images.
