Contia tenuis, Sharp-tailed Snake

A secretive snake whose range barely makes it south into San Luis Obispo Co., CA. Eats slugs and Slender Salamanders. This snake's skin is surprisingly reflective and changes color greatly with changing light conditions. Found near Nacimiento Lake. March 10.
