Day 230 - Kitchen Remodel

Newly remodeled kitchen on a rainy mid-morning day.

The new cabinets mimic the house's original 1920's shaker style cabinets.

The new floors are VCT (from Mannington) that have a look similar to linoleum.

The floor colors are Almondine and Spruce.

The counter top is Dupont's Zodiac synthetic quartz stone.

What color are the walls painted? This kitchen is great inspiration for me! I have a 1910 home...that has a kitchen that needs some restoration.
  • Bill 6y

The wall color is Sherwin-Williams's Lemon Merengue.

Hi there, I really like your kitchen design! The color combination is beautiful and very different. Did you design it yourself, or did you have an interior designer? (I would love to know who the designer was since I am redoing a kitchen as well)
  • Theresa Thompson 4y

Beautiful kitchen! (I love your floor.)

@kierstenlo, thank you for the compliment. We did the design ourselves. It took a lot of looking at books and magazines. Over a long period the "design" started to come together into what you see today.

@theresa, thank you too for the compliment.

Hello, I'd really like to do the curved open shelves you have on either side of the sink, and I'm wondering where you got the curved moulding? I know some companies that make it, but am worried about painting it to match the wood cabinets (would be white also). Beautiful kitchen! Would love to see current pictures now that the kitchen is ~2(?) years old. Do you still enjoy the red counters as much as the first day? Thanks!

What color tiles did you use? Armstrong, Congoleum, or other manufacturer? Thanks!
  • Bill 2y

VCT tiles are made by Mannington. Colors, if I recall correctly, are Almondine and Spruce.
