Speaking of wildfire, Timmy, "sheldon brown" was in the top 10 as shown by Google Trends earlier today. Right now his name is #18 on Google Trends. A Technorati search on his name runs to four pages of blog posts mentioning him today. Sheldon touched many many people.

      Nooo!

May his bottom bracket cups spin forever freely in his obsure italian-threaded frame.

      Legend.

No! He just replied to my email about riding fixed gear two weeks ago! He will be missed.

Darn! People like that should stick around longer. His web pages with homemade bike designs was a big part of what got me started building my designs.

Sad news indeed. I hope somebody will take care of his webpages?

What a tremendous loss. He was a towering figure for cycling. I doubt anyone will ever be able to fill his shoes. Very sad...

I sent an email to Sheldon thanking him for his wonderful resource; the mail bounced back - I investigated - sad news - he'll be sorely missed. I really enjoyed his straightforward, helpful articles and read them whenever I had a bike maintenance issue. Putting the site in French was a nice touch too. My thoughts go out to his family - I'll be thinking of him on my next ride.
