River Ford Panda

Crossing the San Lorenzo River in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Santa Cruz County.

All of that dirt on my face is from a faceplant I did in the dirt after I almost cleared a log. Almost.

LOL, is this on the daily commute? :)

Yeah, I ride my bike every day through old growth redwood trees and pristine running water.

Nah ;-) This was my lunchtime ride today. It's a 10 minute bike ride from my front door to the state park. After the park entrance, it's about another 45 minutes to get to the river at this point. The water is about knee deep here.

Excellent metapanda -- the bike rides you!

I'm glad you approve! It was an interesting balancing act hauling my bike across a river while holding my camera out for this shot. I slipped on the mossy rocks and fell on my tail immediately after snapping this photo. I dropped the bike but saved the camera! The sacrifices one makes for art...

Cool perspective on this one. The river is slightly larger down on Laurel Street in Santa Cruz where I did a structural repair of the bridge after a portion of it collapsed during a flood in the early to mid 80's.

Even here the SL runs much higher after winter rains. This is about halfway between Felton and Santa Cruz.
