Daddy is this our biography? "Old Fourlegs The Story of the Coelacanth"

    Newer Older

This piece was originally designed and stitched for the Phat Quarter 'book themed' swap. I choose the book which, at age 10 or so, introduced me to the wondrous coelacanth.

This center image and words is the frontispiece for the book. My nosy coelacanths are very curious about their possible biography.

Wonderful! These coelacanths popped up in a book I was reading recently and I instantly thought of your embroideries :)

thanks g99, the colors really are calming! I got a eBay bag of pearle cotton DMC, so there is more in the future.

Thank you so much FtWB! That's what I'm aiming for, read about coelacanths, think of me! Must've been a VERY interesting book to mention my favorite fish. :)

The book is called The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins, indeed a very interesting book, although I'm pretty sure it's not everyone's cup of tea... ;)

Thanks Bren! I keep circling back to these fishes as they seem to give my mind a focus for solving an 'art problem.' How do I fit these fish into a movie theme, book theme?
