Decrepitude of East Side "Greenway" A Glaring Omission in City's Bike Efforts
I'm as happy as anyone to see all the new bike lanes and paths going in around the City. But those improvements only highlight the woeful neglect of the East Side Greenway, north of 59th St. The City has allowed this pathway which has such great potential for cyclists on the Upper East Side, Harlem, and the Bronx to visibly crumble, while a nightmarish bureaucracy fumbles along applying appalling band-aid fixes designed to avoid liability which render the greenway essentially unusuable for bicyclists. Here's a brief tour.
