A view of a frozen Lewis Lake on an overcast late May morning. I had tried to get down to Lewis Lake and Falls from Yellowstone couple of times but the road from Old Faithful area to West Thumb Junction would close periodically because of fresh snow. So I drove up from the south one morning from Grand Teton National Park when the mountains where not visible because of the very low clouds. The weather was not much better here, but I walked out a short distance on the frozen lake and shot a few photos. Lewis Lake is one of my favorite places in Yellowstone, but I have never been able to get an image of the place that shows it's true beauty. Just one of my many excuses for going back to Wyoming time after time.
