Chance favours the prepared.. (Featured in the Yahoo Blog: link below)
I saw this in the coming as I was driving in my car. When I saw it, the aircraft was about as much in front of the moon, as it is behind in the shot here.
I pulled the car onto the sidewalk and grabbed for my cam not looking at the moon. I knew that I would only get one or two shots. Kids screaming "what's going on?" obviously:p
I pulled the camera and fortunately I had the right lens on (70-200 with IS). I went to AV (Canon) and f 2,8 and turned the iso down to 100. The camera fired at 1/3200 sec. I focused again (I use backfocusing) and fired again. Refocused and got a third exposure. The second exposure was the sharpest and is the one I uploaded here.
This was shot at 200 mm so its a pretty solid crop and therefore not the best quality. Had to add a lot of noise adjustments.. I fired 2 more exposures but then the tail wasn't interfering with the moon and it looked like two different happenings.
Don't know what I should have done elsewise but it sure would be better if I had a 400 mm. But I don't think I ever will be driving around with a 400 mm ready for that random lucky moon shot:p
Anyway.. Hope you enjoy.. And I need help with a title.. Nothing comes to mind...
Edit: I choose a quote from Louis Pasteur as the title. He said: In the fields of observation chance favors only the prepared mind. End quote. I cut of the beginning and the end:p
The uploaded file was 670 kb.. Haha... Usually my jpegs are from 12 -18 mb..
